Club FM is a Mathrubhumi initiative that has captured the hearts of its listeners with various On Air entertainment programs. Club FM organized a Musical Night on 24 th November 2018 at Nishagandhi Auditorium in the premises of Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram.
Club FM currently having 6 stations across Kerala and UAE, they launched their first station in Trissur in 2007 and expanded to Kannur, Trivandrum , Kochi, Dubai and Kozhikode. The playlist at Club FM Includes various interesting genres, Especially they plays All Time and latest hits in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. Club FM has also bagged numerous International and National Awards for their stunning performance in the field of FM radio broadcasting.
The Musical night featured those prominent singers who both having the much important place in every music lover's heart;P. Jayachandran and K.S. Chithra. Entry to the event was restricted to the invitees only and the whole Nishagandhi was crowded to hear the two veteran singers.
Nishagandhi hosted another musical extravaganza with the amazing performance of P.Jayachandran and K.S. Chithra. Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra who is also known as Melody Queen of Indian Cinema performed won the heart of audience with her sweet voice.
Many special guests were present to enjoy the musical night including Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V.K. Prashant and well known Malayalam playback singers like Rajalakshmy and Akhila Anand. They also performed with K.S.chithra on her request.
Club FM managed to conduct the event in a fair manner and they managed the guests and invitees at their best. The rain which poured on the roof of Nishagandhi along with the musical fiesta made the event so amazing.
The Musical event was led by singer; K.S.Chithra who has sung more than 25,000 songs in a number of Indian languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tulu, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Badaga, as well as foreign languages like Malay, Latin, Arabic, Sinhalese, English and French.
Chithra is the first Indian woman who was honored by House Of Commons, British Parliament, United Kingdom. She is the only singer from India who was honored by the Government of China at the Qinghai International Music and Water Festival.
Chithra has won six National Film Awards; that is the most by any female singer in India and she won eight Filmfare Awards and 35 different state film awards. She has won all the four south Indian state film awards.She was honored with India's civilian honor Padma Shri in 2005.
The duets of K.S. Chithra along with P. Jayachandran was so amazing and both of them performed in tandem. K.S. Chithra is the only South Indian female singer who has presented her maiden concert at the world's prestigious concert hall Royal Albert Hall in London.
Her song "Kannalane/Kehna Hi Kya" from the film Bombay (1995) was included in The Guardian's "1000 Songs Everyone Must Hear" list. Chithra has sung very well and many people gathered who all are so close to her as her birth birthplace is Trivandrum.
The musical event also paid tribute to the talented Violinist Balabaskar on his sad demise. The songs sung by the singers were selected by club FM team as per their listener's request.
The song "Manjal Prasadavum" from the film Nakhakshathangal (1986) composed by Bombay Ravi got her the second National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer. For the same composer, she sang the song "Indupushpam Choodi Nilkum" for the film Vaishali (1989) and won her third National Film Award.
Her first Kerala State Film Award for Best Singer was for the song "Aayiram Kannumayi" from the film Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu (1986) composed by Jerry Amaldev.
The singer also performed; Paliyath Jayachandrakuttan, popularly known as P. Jayachandran, playback singer, and classical musician. Jayachandran is best known for his captivating voice which gave him the title 'Bhava Gayakan' by the music fraternity of South India.
Jayachandran has won one National Award, five Kerala State Awards and four Tamil Nadu State Awards. He has recorded songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi. He has sung "Anuragaganam pole", composed by M.S. Baburaj, for the film Udhyogastha and that guided many minds to their nostalgic memories.
