12th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) is scheduled to be held from 21st to 26th June 2019 at Thiruvananthapuram. The festival, a unique venture in India is being organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy for the Dept of Cultural Affairs, Govt of Kerala as part of its endeavor to catalyze a vibrant documentary and short film movement. Increasing accessibility and affordability of media technology has led to a boom in the production and scope of films. The media is now used by image-makers from all walks of life to express, experiment, learn and as an effective tool to conscientise and bring about social change. The festival aims to map and reflect the exploding nature of the medium in its many facets of creativity and resistance.
Entries are invited in the following categories:
- Long Documentary
- Short Documentary
- Short Fiction
- Campus Film
- Animation & Music Video.
Films produced between 1st May 2018 and 30th April 2019 (both days inclusive) are eligible for applying.
You can apply through the Film Submission page. Film Submission Page is an online interface allowing you to share the data related to you and/or your films with the Festival. If you want to submit a film to the Festival, you must create your Film Submission Page Login.
Similarly, when the Festival opens its registration, you will have to create a Login to request accreditation. Once you have access to your Film Submission Page, you will be able to insert, review and update your personal data any time, upload documents the Festival needs from you, subscribe to Festival newsletters, etc.
